Marek Sandoval
Unverified Account Risk and Recoverability Analyst
What I cover
- Recoverability. What happens to an account, and the balance in it, when the only credential is an email address you have lost access to.
- Dispute leverage. What recourse a card deposit preserves that a crypto deposit does not, and what neither gets you when there is no regulator above the operator.
- Passive identifiability. What a book already knows from a card BIN, an on chain address, an IP range and a device fingerprint, before it asks you for anything.
- Paperwork you still owe. Why an operator that never collected a Social Security number changes which forms exist and not what you owe.
How I work
I price things. If an offer is 200% up to $6,000 at 10x, the number that matters is $60,000 of turnover, and I would rather write that number down than describe the offer as generous. Where I do not know something, or nobody publishes it, I say so instead of filling the gap with confident prose.
Two things I will not write. I will not explain how to defeat a verification check or a geographic restriction, because that is help with evading anti money laundering controls rather than consumer information. And I will not write anything aimed at a reader below the legal gambling age.
I also will not call an offshore sportsbook safe. It has no US regulator above it, no segregated player funds you can verify and no complaints body you can escalate to. Some of them are reputable, which means they have paid people consistently for a long time. That is evidence and it is worth something. It is not safety and I will not relabel it.
